Trade unions in the United States were first organized in the early nineteenth century. The main purpose of a trade union is to collectively bargain with employers for wages, hours, and working conditions. We can define labour union like an association, combination, or organization of employees who band together to secure favourable wages, improved working conditions, and better work hours, and to resolve grievances against employers.
Trade unions are entitled to conduct a strike against employers. A strike is usually the last resort of a trade union, but when negotiations have reached an impasse, a strike may be the only bargaining tool left for employees.
Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor under President Clinton, has written: "Organized labor is an aging, doddering prize fighter still relishing trophies earned decades ago." But in the next breath, he wrote: "But it's the only fighter in that corner of the ring. There's no other countervailing force against the overriding power of business and finance."

This is not the only one solution to fight against this disappearance of trade union, but the first step. [...] People who have power, have to respect and have not to go beyond this power. A labour union is the best thing in a society to be careful about it. Even if a lot of people think that union labour don't respect people by blocking street, station, or airport, they play a major role in our democracy.
